My parents came to Oklahoma from Georgia. Mother came in 1879, and father came in 1888. This is when Dr. F. B. Fite came to the Indian Territory to practice medicine; however, this was after he had studied medicine. Prior to studying medicine, he had come to Indian Territory in 1883 and had taught in the Cherokee Schools.
