CEMETERIES--CHOCTAW--MOUNTAIN FORK

This information given by Elliott COLE, Eagletown, Oklahoma.

This burial ground was given to the Mountain Fork Presbyterian Church; only two graves have headstones.

Simon HOMER, aged 30, was killed in 1915.

A.S. HOMER, his son, born in 1903, was drowned in 1925.

Jacob LEWIS, a Choctaw, who was killed while plowing in the field, was buried in 1886.

Mahateka LEWIS died of old age.

Ellen MAMBI, mother of John TONEHKA, died in 1909.

David HUDSON, half-brother of John TONEHKA, son of Ellen MAMBI, died in 1904.

William GOINGS, the last Indian to be executed at Sulphur Springs by Indian law, was buried there. He also was a half-brother to John TONEHKA. John TONEHKA brought him from Sulphur Springs and they buried him there in 1897.

This burial ground is two and one-half miles southeast of Eagletown, Oklahoma.
